Materials & Stores

The Materials & Stores module manages stock across multiple stores and locations. It provides comprehensive physical counting procedures; and facilitates valuation at actual, average, or standard cost. It supports a variety of material and parts management capabilities such as stock check defaults, stock type search, stock check operations and stock check review. Equinox also supports stock management through barcoding and integration with automated storage systems.

Key Features:

  • All material types can be flagged as trackable which allows for a greater level of traceability and performance analysis. At any point, a user can find out how many widgets are in stock, on order, in quarantine, fitted, and so on.
  • Materials and stock are managed in the system to facilitate ease of access to information and control over supply, usage and purchasing of materials. All stock types are allocated to default bins to simplify stock receipting and improve stock control. Comprehensive GRN and stock receipting functionality is provided.
  • Stock levels, min, max and reorder levels are applied to trigger purchase orders/requisitions. Purchase order levels can include seasonality factors to order more de-icer, for example, during winter months. In addition, all stock types can have warranties rules applied which automatically trigger warranty claims as required.
  • All materials defined in the system can have nominal and cost centre codes associated to facilitate the interface with finance systems – eg Oracle financials, SAP etc.
  • All material types in the system can have warranty details recorded against them and facilitates both manufacturers and component warranty. The system also enables the use of different warranty measures including mileage (or km) based warranties, and warranties based on calendar days, fitted to asset days etc. The system uses this information to decide if a warranty claim can be raised and does so at the point of removal of the component.
