Nexala Spectrum is a real-time, remote, fault diagnostics and condition monitoring system designed and built for the transport sector. Spectrum processes real-time defect data and provides a comprehensive fleet status overview, presents diagnostics content and delivers recommended recovery actions.

Spectrum comprises a number of modules including a fleet & unit fault dashboard, a sophisticated real-time rules engine, a data adapter layer and a business process manager.

Spectrum is used to provide solutions for monitoring key areas such as brake and shoe-gear wear, HVAC, doors, propulsion and electrical sensors, and temperature & pressure systems. The fault dashboard is used to identify component faults at the fleet and unit level. The information in the dashboard is updated in real-time (or as the data is available) and presented in an easy to use and intuitive manner.

The Spectrum real-time business rules engine is used to execute complex business rules coupled with a graphical rules editor for easily creating and managing the rules. The rules engine is used to process large volumes of diagnostics or condition monitoring data to identify faults and patterns, and recommend remedy actions.

The Spectrum Business Process Manager (BPM) provides sophisticated process management that enables the co-ordination of tasks and resources. The processes can be used to interface to third party systems or execute a series of actions, including co-ordinating recovery/repair processes, or sending out notifications, when a business rule identifies that a particular fault or condition value threshold is reached.

The data adaptor module provides a series of interfaces to third party systems, databases and data sources. These include OTMR data, Train Management Systems (TMS) data, MRX track side monitoring systems, mobile measurement devices, GOTCHA track side monitoring system and wheel lathes.
