Southeastern selects Nexala for Maintenance Management


London, United Kingdom, January 28th 2008:

Nexala have been selected to provide Maintenance Management, Decision Support, and Performance Analysis systems to support the maintenance of all of Southeastern's rail fleet (344 trains across 5 fleets and a number of maintenance depots). Nexala will be used to assist Southeastern in its commitment to improving services for passengers and to assist Southeastern with its plans to improve reliability, meet demand and improve punctuality and timekeeping of services.

Mr. Wayne Jenner, Engineering Director, Southeastern added that: "Nexala were chosen following a detailed evaluation of the vendors in this space. We evaluated a number of systems software providers and chose Nexala due to the breadth of functionality of their systems and the match with our requirements. Nexala have a detailed understanding of the UK rail industry and this is reflected through their established record within the sector."

Nexala's software will be used to improve efficiencies within the Southeastern maintenance operations. Through efficient planning and the seamless integration of a defect reporting environment, repairs and regulatory maintenance exams can be undertaken in a way to maximise the reliability of the Southeastern fleet. The software ensures that the correct spare parts are at hand as needed and optimises the maintenance planning process. As part of this contract, Nexala will also provide a suite of condition monitoring applications to determine and forecast wheelset wear and replacement schedules. Nexala's Performance Management software will be deployed throughout Southeastern's operations to monitor and measure fleet performance.
