London, United Kingdom, 29th September 2009

Nexala’s Spectrum remote fault diagnostic and condition monitoring application has been rolled out to the National Express East Anglia Class 90 fleet on the London Liverpool Street to Norwich routes. Nexala’s Spectrum application is being used in the control room as the decision support application to manage the real-time remote fleet data via GPRS to reduce in-service delays and associated penalties and improve depot fault diagnostics and repair operations.

Steve Mitchell, Fleet Technical Engineer, East Anglia said "Nexala and National Express East Anglia are working together as strategic partners to provide a Train Diagnostic System to our fleet. Using Nexala's Spectrum application we are able to bring real-time fault information into the control room and provide an intelligent decision and planning support system with GPS to ensure effective and rapid fault recovery"

The application ensures that the most effective decisions are presented to the control room for in-service recovery. It provides the control room with detailed information on live faults, warnings and recommended recovery actions across the fleet while in service. Spectrum presents unit cab views, schematics, channel data and geographical positioning overtime to both the control room and depots for efficient planning and focussed fault diagnostics. Spectrum also monitors energy usage and delivers comprehensive energy analysis by key influencing factors such as diagram, loading, driver and direction of travel.

"I am delighted with the project and with the positive results - Spectrum is delivering what the Customer needs and is another successful project for Nexala. I am particularly pleased as real-time fault diagnostics and condition monitoring is a key solution area for us" said Paul Lowry, VP Business Development, Nexala
